Historic for Serie A! Milan will play the championship match outside Italy

Italian football is preparing for a historic match. The match between Milan and Como, valid for the 26th week of Serie A, is expected to be played in Perth, Australia, on the weekend of February 7-8, 2026.

The decision was approved by the FIGC Council following the request of the Serie A League. The finalization of this transfer is still pending some formal approvals from the Australian Federation, UEFA, AFC and FIFA.

The 60,000-seat Optus Stadium is the venue chosen for the match. If all goes according to plan, it will be the first time an Italian league match has been held outside Europe.

The move comes as part of a strategy to promote Italian football in new international markets. Authorities believe the approvals will be a mere formality.
