No surprises in the Club World Cup, Chelsea qualifies for the final

Chelsea are the first team to reach the Club World Cup final after a 2-0 victory over Fluminense at the MetLife Stadium, ending the participation of South American teams in the tournament.

The Londoners took the lead in the 18th minute. A cross from Pedro Neto was deflected by the defence, but the ball went to João Pedro, who scored with a precise shot from outside the area, on his debut as a starter for the Londoners.

In the 55th minute, Chelsea doubled their lead after a counterattack. Cole Palmer started the action, the ball passed to Fernández, who assisted João Pedro for the second goal, with a shot that hit the crossbar and went into the net.

Despite attempts by Fluminense, including a long-range shot by Lima in the 71st minute, they failed to create any dangerous chances in the closing stages of the match.

Chelsea, meanwhile, will seek their second Club World Cup trophy in the final against Real Madrid or Paris Saint-Germain.
