Messi in Saudi Arabia? Club aims to create rivalry with Ronaldo

Lionel Messi is back to being talked about in the transfer market, despite his good form as he moves to Inter Miami in MLS.

French media are reporting interest from Saudi club Al Ahli, the reigning Asian Champions League champions.

Messi's contract in the United States expires at the end of the year, making a move to the Middle East a possible option. The Argentine's high salary is not a deterrent for the Arab club, which is aiming to form a new rivalry with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Details of the agreement have not been made public, while Al Ahli includes important names from Europe's strongest leagues.

 Messi has scored 759 goals in 941 club appearances and 112 goals with Argentina, winning a large number of individual and team trophies.

With Barcelona he won 35 titles, including 4 Champions Leagues and 10 La Ligas. His future still remains open, with the transfer market that could bring another turning point in his career.
