FIFA's profit boom could bring the World Cup back to the US

FIFA expects to record revenue from the World Cup, which could reach up to $15 billion, more than the initial forecast of $11 billion.

According to reports, a significant part of this growth is related to the secondary market of ticket resale and premium packages. FIFA receives a 15% commission from both the buyer and seller in cases of ticket resale.

The increase in revenue could bring more funds to national member associations, a situation that is also considered positive for FIFA president Gianni Infantino, ahead of the upcoming electoral processes.

According to reports, around 200 federations have expressed support for Infantino. The economic and organizational success of the 2026 World Cup also strengthens the possibility that the United States will aim to host another World Cup in 2038.
