But according to dentist Shaadi Manouchehri, there are certain times during the day when you shouldn't brush your teeth, as it can lead to decay. 

In the morning, you should not brush immediately after eating breakfast, because your mouth is in "a very acidic state" immediately after eating. 

You should also not brush your teeth immediately after vomiting. 

The contents of the stomach are extremely acidic and the mouth is in a very acidic state, so if you wash it right after you vomit, you'll basically strip away your enamel.

Finally, you should not brush your teeth immediately after eating sweets or other sugary things, as this can destroy your enamel. 

It is important to brush your teeth as soon as you wake up in the morning, ideally within the first 30 minutes and before you have eaten or drunk anything. / CNA
