We would much prefer a small seaside town, rather than a beach with a modern tourist development growing around it where life revolves around the summer season. While Himara's terrain may seem a little rough, the lack of fancy hotels and big resorts means there's so much unspoiled space to discover. We think Himara is an excellent choice of a base for tourists looking to enjoy and explore the Albanian Riviera, especially if you are taking a road trip with a rental car. Depending on the travel style, beach lovers can spend five nights here without visiting the same place twice.

Spille beach is the main one in Himare and is located near the city center. It is easily accessible and offers some of the best restaurants in town. Aquarium Bay is the most beautiful beach in Himare, according to the travel bloggers of "The Travel Folk".
