A two-story house caught fire in the early hours of the morning in the village of Zvezda, Maliq Municipality. Fortunately, the family members managed to escape in time without sustaining any injuries.

The family members say that seven people live in the apartment, but only four were there at the time of the incident. They say they do not have the financial means to rebuild the house and are appealing for help from institutions.

"The boy was asleep, we were in the kitchen. The fire started on the second floor, we had nothing lit. The second floor was completely burned down. We are 7 members, but at the moment the fire happened, there were 4 of us in the apartment. We have no way to rebuild it, everything burned down, the state should help us as much as it can," says one of the family members.

Relatives and neighbors also confirm that the family is in difficult economic conditions, without a stable income, and that the house was old with worn-out electrical lines. They are seeking help from the Maliq municipality and relevant structures, whether for shelter, food, or clothing.

"I have a brother and now I found out, because they told me that the house burned down, it was burned down by electricity, the house was complete. They have worked for 6 months just for the house, they can't afford to rebuild it, so we want help from the Municipality of Maliq. They have no income, they go to the village of Argos for 3 months and take something to put in the house, now where will they find it. We want some help, some clothes, something the municipality can help with. It's a family of ghettos, we are Roma, we are not rich. The fire came from the electricity, they have the clothes here in the kitchen, the fire started upstairs. They found out after a neighbor called them. When we were told the house was on fire, we went out and saw the flames were on the ceiling. There are 4 family members, the head of the family with his son and daughter-in-law and their son. They have no income, we live only on his pension and they go to work in Greece, they eat what they get and that's it. They should help them. He would do "The roof this year, he had to go to work this year to do the roof. The lines are weak, the houses are old," the relatives say.
