Tourism even in winter in Gjirokastër/ “Argjiro” Castle, the

Gjirokastra, one of the most important destinations for historical and cultural tourism, is welcoming many visitors even in these winter days. The Keshjella continues to remain the most visited asset. Since November, it has welcomed 7,200 tourists.

The winter season has not kept foreign visitors away from Gjirokastra. Although not in large numbers, there are still visitors who come for the first time or return to the museum buildings and cobblestone streets.

During this period, there were more domestic visitors and visitors from Kosovo dominated.

" It's my first time coming to Gjirokastra, I really like the city, we arrived today and will take a walk to get to know it better, we really like our first visit ," said a visitor.

" Gjirokastra has been and will remain beautiful, we Albanians have been there many times before, but it has changed a lot, everyone should come to Gjirokastra because it is a miracle that God has given us ," said another tourist.

 

Authorities are preparing the calendar of activities for the new season, while preparations are also being made in other aspects related to informing visitors.

Gjirokastra during 2024 was chosen by over 700 thousand domestic and foreign visitors./ CNA
