"OSHEE Charge" project/ Rama: Within 2026, it will be switched to smart meters

Prime Minister Edi Rama was present at the presentation of the "OSHEE Charge" project, where he focused on energy meters.

Rama stated that within 2026, work will begin to transition to the smart meter system.

During his speech, Rama also focused on the interconnection, which he said will give the country a lead in terms of importing renewable energy.

" We have this innovation, while I believe that within 2026 we will also have the start of work on energy meters, moving to the smart meter system. We have started work to set up a state-of-the-art data center, it is an innovation that goes in the direction I spoke about. In the direction of a large public company, where responsibility in service is now being translated into responsibility.

"We will implement the interconnection as part of a strategic partnership and as a country it will give us an edge in terms of importing renewable energy ," Rama declared./CNA
