Journalist Roland Qafoku said today that President Bajram Begaj is preparing for a second term, linking it to his latest decision, the decreeing of elections for 6 municipalities.

Invited to A2CNN, Qafoku said that it would be a rare case, since since the years when the country was led by Sali Berisha, there has been no repetition of the presidential mandate.

"President Begaj is preparing for a second term. That's how I understand it. Since Berisha, we haven't had a repeat presidential term. I can't believe the lawyers told him: 'Decree.'"

Begaj today simply laid the carpet for a second term. That's it. This has led to the Constitutional Court repeating the precedent of 2002, when Arben Rakipi was dismissed by Parliament as chief prosecutor. Back then, we had two prosecutors general.

"The Constitutional Court ruled in favor of Mr. Rakipi, Mr. Theodhori Sollaku took office because he was elected by Parliament, and for 6 months we had two prosecutors," said Qafoku. /CNA
