Budget for 2026/ Lamallari: Around 15 billion lek for projects and prison management

Interior Minister Besfort Lamallari shared today the predictions made for the 2026 draft budget.

In his speech to the Committee on Legal Affairs, Lamallari stated that the budget foreseen for next year for this institution amounts to around 15 billion lek.

Lamallari added that this budget, in addition to salaries and internal infrastructure, aims to focus on the management of prison institutions, but also on new projects.

"We had the opportunity to coordinate the budget in advance with the Ministry of Finance. The budget of 14.96 billion lek for the Ministry of Interior meets all needs. The priority remains the part of the budget for prison management, for several new projects for prisons, as well as for new buildings. Forensic medicine, so that citizens benefit from this budget. We will also have a model institute for the region for the treatment of minors. For the time being, the budget is very concise, as we do not need an additional budget. We have current expenses, but also internal capital", said Lamallari. /CNA
