A territorial reform for the people, not for the interests of power!

At a time when Albania is suffering from the consequences of an ominous division that was drafted 12 years ago in the offices of power and not on the streets of the community, for the opposition, territorial reform is not simply a technical process, but a mission to dismantle the old machinery that left citizens without services and without a voice.

The failure of the current reform is comprehensive:

Abandonment of the countryside and destruction of cities: This reform turned the countryside into "no man's land", where residents pay city taxes but do not receive even the most minimal services. This reform created concrete cities but without citizens.

Municipalities like "Ivory Towers": Mayors turned into local feudal lords who only see the center, while neighborhoods and suburbs were left in total oblivion.

Waste and corruption of the administration: Funds that should have gone to schools, kindergartens, sewers, and roads were swallowed up by a bloated administration that doesn't even know where the boundaries of their municipality are.

Destruction of decentralization: Local power and autonomy were annihilated, turning municipalities into an appendage of the government, municipal electoral offices that function only on political orders and not on the needs of residents.

The Opposition's position :

We are to seek, draft, and approve a new territorial reform that serves the citizen, not the next electoral score.

The opposition demands the return of real power to the citizen, so that services are close to home and business, fair budget allocation where every penny of the taxpayer of the most remote village is turned into investment where he lives, with full financial autonomy that breaks the chains of dependence on the central government.

There can be no European Albania if a mother in the deepest corner has to travel 3 hours for a document, or if a farmer's produce rots because the rural road to the municipality only exists on paper.

EU integration is not only a central political process, but a territorial transformation that directly affects rural communities!
