Here's why the Princess of Wales always wears the same tiara for the most formal occasions

This week marked the 15th time the Princess of Wales has worn the pearl tiara known as the "Lovers' Knot."

It is one of the most iconic pieces of jewelry of the British royal family. It has diamonds and 19 dangling pearls, which give it its characteristic look.

The tiara was created in 1913-1914 by the famous jewelry house 'Garrard' and commissioned by Queen Mary. The design was a copy of an older family crown from the 19th century.

The crown was passed down through the generations and was then loaned to Princess Diana after her marriage. Today it is worn by Kate Middleton.

This must be Kate's favorite crown because it is associated with tradition, but also with modern style.
