US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were at Mar-a-Lago's glitzy New Year's Eve party on Wednesday evening.

The first lady chose to wear a stunning silver dress, which she paired with silver-embellished Louboutin heels, while the president wore his traditional tuxedo.

As the first couple walked the black carpet, the president was clear about his intention for the New Year.

'Peace. Peace on earth,' he said, after a year in which he claimed to have ended many wars across the globe.

'Thank you,' the president said, as he smiled and entered the party holding Melania's hand, inviting the gathered journalists to join him.

Prominent MAGA figures seen at the party included former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, MyPillow CEO and U.S. Senate candidate Mike Lindell, Hollywood director Brett Ratner, who directed the upcoming documentary about Melania, and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem.

Trump's children, Donald Trump Jr., Eric and Barron, were seen, with the president wishing Trump Jr. a happy birthday from the stage. He turned 48 on Dec. 31. /CNA
