The "Iron Lady" of Paris is degrading/ the Eiffel Tower is being "invaded" by rust

The pride of Paris, the Eiffel Tower, which was built in 1889, has stood for a full 133 years. But apparently the time has come for repair, as the high steel structure is all covered in rust.

Although in need of a radical overhaul, the tower will only be given a facelift and painting as the 2024 Olympic Games will be hosted in Paris and time does not promise a deeper restoration.  

To stop the spread of tower rust, a phenomenon that continues to be a major problem for the tower, it is necessary that the tower be painted once every seven years.

With a height of 324 meters, this tower gathers a full 6 million tourists every year and this is one of the main reasons that the authorities are reluctant to intervene in this monument due to the huge income that would be lost as a result of absent tourists./ CNA.al
