The theft that ignited the war between the two "fathers" of Tirana

The two well-known names of criminal groups in Albania, Naim Zyberi and Gaz Muça, initially did not have any conflict with each other, but then started conflicts over an ordinary robbery.

In the period between 1991-1992, the second large group was created in Tirana, which extended its influence from the train station to the former Durrësi restaurant, and this group was led by Naim Zyberi.

Around him, the most prominent names of the group were the brothers Hasa, Keta and Franc Konomi. Naim Zyberi was originally from Kukësi.

"It doesn't seem to me that Gazmend Muça had a conflict with these people. The only conflict was that Gaz Muça was a strong man in Tirana and they were afraid of him", said the journalist, Roland Qafoku.

The robbery that also caused the murders

In March of 1992, Taulant Muça forcibly took the motorcycle of a boy from the area near the former Durrsit restaurant in the capital.

Tulant Muça who stole the motorcycle was Gaz Muça's brother. The episode was witnessed by one of the gangsters of the area, Franc Konomi, who was Naim Zyber's right-hand man.

Afterwards, Konomi rapes the brother of the strong man of "White Street" and asks him not to return there.

"He had a brother who, for the sake of the truth, used to tell him from time to time, you're going to eat my head... the whole neighborhood knew this, he was an outcast, it wasn't Gazi's nature," said the journalist, Roland Qafoku

It was never known whether Taulant Muça told his brother, Gazi, about this incident, but this was the cause of a series of criminal events.

"Naim Zyberi, Franc Konomi and all the other characters were afraid of him simply because he was strong. There was an incident, the famous story of a slap on Taulanti and the fact is that Taulanti never told Gazi that he shot me with his palm but they were afraid that he would have told him and that he will now do something to us and from this the murder came", said the journalist, Roland Qafoku ./CNA
