Vote-buying clash in Debar/ Police launch investigation

The Dibra Police have provided preliminary information regarding the incident reported about two hours ago where a clash over votes had occurred in Dibra.

The police statement states that the Democratic Party's candidate for deputy, Xhemal Gjunkshi, called the operations room and claimed that they had detained a citizen suspected of distributing money in exchange for votes.

Gjunkshi also claimed that a person fired a gun as he left.

The police announce that under the direction of SPAK, they are conducting investigations to clarify the case.

At around 8:25 p.m., citizen Xh.Gj. (candidate for deputy of the Democratic Party political entity), called the operations room of the Dibër Local Police Directorate, claiming that in the village of Pilafe, Tomin Administrative Unit, they had detained a citizen suspected of distributing money in exchange for votes.

Also, citizen Xh.Gj. previously claimed that a person fired a gun into the air as he was leaving.

The investigation group of the Dibër Local Police Directorate was immediately established and, under the direction of Spak and the Dibër General Jurisdiction Prosecutor's Office, they are conducting investigations to clarify the case./ CNA
