Internationally wanted for criminal group/ 55-year-old extradited from Croatia

A 55-year-old man who was declared an international wanted person has been extradited from Croatia to Albania.

The Special Court has imposed the security measure "Arrest with imprisonment" on him, accused of criminal group and smuggling of goods.

He is accused of having, in collaboration with other persons, smuggled goods worth 366,034,540 lek.

Police report

A 55-year-old man is being extradited from Croatia, accused by the Criminal Court of Kosovo of being a member of a criminal organization that has caused considerable economic damage to the state through the smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid.

Following close cooperation between specialists from the Interpol Directorate, with counterparts in Croatia, the procedure for the extradition to Albania of the citizen: 

E. Sh., 55 years old, born in North Macedonia.  

This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with the decision dated 27.05.2025, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offenses "Smuggling of goods for which excise duty is paid or with full or partial suspension of customs or excise duties", committed in a special form of cooperation, that of a structured criminal group, "Structured criminal group" and "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group".

Citizen E. Sh. is accused of having, in collaboration with other citizens, acting as a criminal organization, smuggled goods (cigarettes) for which excise duty is paid. With this activity, they have caused the Albanian state economic damage of 366,034,540 lek.  

The extradited citizen was handed over to the General Directorate of Prisons, for the execution of the Court's decision./CNA
