Failure to declare money in Kapshtica/ 30 thousand euros seized, 66-year-old

A case of undeclared money is cracked down on at the Kapshtica checkpoint. 30,500 euros are seized, and the 66-year-old man who possessed it and did not declare it is being prosecuted.

The Border Police Services have intensified controls to crack down on illegal activities at the border. In this context, in cooperation with the customs authorities, at the Kapshtica BCP, on the exit, a “Benz” type vehicle driven by citizen BS was moved to the second line for detailed control.

During the search, 30,500 euros were found, which this citizen was attempting to take out of Albania, without declaring it in accordance with the laws in force.          

Following the procedural actions in the case, the materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office, where proceedings were initiated against citizen BS, 66 years old, resident of Tirana, for the criminal offense of "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border".    

The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor 's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Korça, for further action./CNA
