Call center fraud/ The organizer and 6 operators are arrested

The State Police has arrested 1 person and has announced two others wanted as organizers of computer fraud.

The Blues have discovered a call center in Tirana where computer fraud was being committed and have arrested 6 employees of this entity and have placed 4 others under investigation.

As part of this operation, computer equipment and mobile phones used for fraud were also found and seized.

State Police/The international police operation codenamed "Platforma" continues in Albania, to crack down on a structured criminal group involved in fraud through a fake online investment platform.

The Directorate for the Investigation of Cybercrimes, in cooperation with the Sector for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes of the Tirana Police Department and under the direction of the Tirana Prosecution Office, is finalizing in this context the police operation codenamed "Recovery".

A call center in Tirana was discovered where computer fraud was being committed.

One of the 3 organizers of this criminal activity has been arrested. Efforts are underway to capture the other 2.

Also, 6 employees of this entity were arrested, and 4 others are under investigation. Computer equipment and mobile phones used for the fraud were seized.

As part of the "Recovery" operation and as a result of the checks carried out following the international "Platform" operation, the Police services found that the first floor of a building on "Janos Hunyadi" Street had been adapted as a call center.

As a result of the intervention in this subject, the employees, citizens IK, 33 years old, resident of Farka, LV, 22 years old, resident of Kruja, EH, 38 years old, resident of Tirana, MM, 33 years old, resident of Tirana, DR, 34 years old, resident of Tirana and AP, 36 years old, resident of Tirana, were caught red-handed and put in handcuffs.

Also, the employees, citizens AP, 40 years old, VA, 38 years old, KA, 24 years old, and SM, 38 years old, all residents of Tirana, were caught red-handed, and proceedings were initiated against them while they were at large.

As a result of the investigations conducted within the framework of this operation, the 3 organizers of the computer fraud, through this call center, were identified: citizens A. Sh., 36 years old, resident of Tirana, AR, 34 years old, and AG, 38 years old.

Citizen A. Sh. was arrested by the Police and placed in handcuffs, as part of the "Recovery" operation. Meanwhile, work continues to arrest 2 other citizens.

The procedural materials were referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action./ CNA
