Police checks in Elbasan/ 1224 drivers punished for wrong overtaking

The Elbasan Road Police announced today that following the intensification of controls to prevent accidents and meet road safety parameters, 23 drivers have been arrested and 4 others have been criminally prosecuted.

The drivers of these vehicles are charged with the criminal offenses of "Irregular driving" and "Violation of traffic rules".

As announced, during this period:

135 drivers were administratively punished for driving after consuming alcoholic beverages;

481 drivers were fined for using a mobile phone while driving;

1224 drivers were punished for wrongful overtaking; 

174 motor vehicle drivers were punished for not wearing a protective helmet;

965 drivers were fined for not wearing seat belts;

1962 drivers were punished for speeding above the allowed speed limit;

451 drivers were punished for stopping or stopping their vehicle in violation of road signs;

864 drivers were punished for other violations of the Highway Code.

The police announce that checks will continue on all road axes in the district.
