Yesterday, family members reported the disappearance of the 14-year-old girl/

A 22-year-old man was arrested by the Police at the Morina Border Crossing Point after attempting to traffic a 14-year-old minor citizen to Kosovo.

Along with citizen EG, an 18-year-old woman was also arrested and charged with failing to report a crime.

The police began searching for the minor after her parents reported her leaving her apartment in Durrës.

Police Announcement:

" A 22-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto for attempting to cross the border with a minor citizen with the intention of trafficking her to Kosovo."     

The passenger in the 22-year-old's vehicle was also arrested for failing to report the crime.  

The Border Police Services in Morina, in continuation of their work to crack down on illegalities at the border, based on risk analysis, have stopped at the exit of the Republic of Albania the vehicle driven by citizen EG, 22 years old, who was traveling with citizen AK, 18 years old, and a 14-year-old female citizen.      

Investigations suspect that citizen EG was attempting to cross the border with the 14-year-old girl with the intention of trafficking her to Kosovo.   

Following the actions, specialists for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking arrested the following citizens in flagrante delicto: 

EG, 22 years old, resident of Berat, for the criminal offense of "Trafficking in minors"; 

AK, 18 years old, resident of Berat, for the criminal offense of "Failure to report a crime".

On 28.09.2025, the family of the 14-year-old girl reported her removal from the apartment to the Durrës DVP. 

Investigations into the case are ongoing.

The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office for further action."
