3 accidents on the National Road / 15 vehicles involved, 6 injured

Bad weather, accompanied by rain and frost, has caused serious problems on the National Road. Due to ice on the road, three road accidents have been recorded along the Milot-Kalimash segment, involving about 15 vehicles.

Accidents have been recorded at several points on this axis, where due to loss of control by the drivers, several vehicles have collided simultaneously. Among the vehicles involved in the accidents was a minibus with passengers, as well as an ambulance belonging to the road concessionaire.

As a result of the accidents, six people were injured. They were transported to the Rrëshen hospital, where they received the necessary medical assistance and are out of danger to their lives.

Meanwhile, the Highways Unit is monitoring the situation and vehicle movement, urging drivers to equip themselves with winter tires. Maintenance companies are engaged in the field to spread salt, with the aim of improving traffic conditions and preventing further accidents.

Although the drop in temperatures had been warned, the intervention to spread salt was not carried out in time, while many drivers were found to be unprepared for the difficult weather conditions, which has directly contributed to the increased risk on this road axis. /CNA
