Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the United States for the recently sent military aid, which also includes armored vehicles. Mr Zelenskyy said they are "exactly what" Ukrainian troops need in their efforts to defeat Russia.

On Friday, the White House announced details of $3.75 billion in aid to Ukraine and its neighbors on NATO's eastern flank.

This is the largest military package that has been sent to Kiev so far. For the first time, it includes 'Bradley' armored vehicles, known as tank-killers because of the anti-tank missiles they fire.

In his televised speech on Friday evening, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called it "a very powerful package".

"For the first time, we will get Bradley armored vehicles. This is exactly what we need. New weapons and ammunition, including high-precision ones. New missiles, new drones. This help is timely and it is very powerful," he said.
