European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said she will meet with US President Donald Trump on Sunday in Scotland.
In a post on the 'X' platform, where she announced the meeting, von der Leyen added that they will discuss transatlantic trade relations and how they can keep them strong.
The announcement comes amid growing hopes in EU capitals that Brussels could reach a deal similar to what Washington reached with Japan earlier this week, which would leave the bloc facing an average 15% tax on most exports to the US.
The US President arrives in Scotland for a five-day visit, during which he will visit two golf courses he owns.
The White House previously said Trump will also meet with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer during his visit. /CNA
