VIDEO/ Pope Francis makes "fists" with Rocky

Pope Francis is apparently a big fan of Sylvester Stallone. 

The "Rocky" star visited the Vatican on Sept. 8 and met the Pope along with his wife, Jennifer, and his three daughters, Sophia, Sistine and Scarlet. 

A video of the meeting shows Stallone and Francis quickly throwing a few fake punches at each other, with the Pope telling the actor that he's a big fan of his career.

"Well, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day," Stallone told the Pope as he introduced him to his family. "We really appreciate that."

"I'm honored," Pope said to Stallone's surprise. "We grew up with your movies."

"Well I'm honored too," Stallone replied, pumping his fists. 

"Ready? We box.”

Papa continued the joke and punched himself, to have more fun with Stallone.

Stallone's visit to the Vatican came ahead of the world premiere of his new Netflix documentary on the closing night of the Toronto Film Festival on September 16. Directed by Thom Zimny ??("Springsteen on Broadway," "Elvis Presley: The Searcher"), the documentary, titled "Sly," is billed as an "intimate and unexpected look" into the action star's early life as and a reflection on his decade-long career.

"Sly" traces Stallone's rough beginnings as a troubled kid in New York City. His career exploded when "Rocky," a role he created and had to fight to play, catapulted him to a new level of fame. Netflix will release "Sly" in November.
