Ordered the resumption of nuclear weapons testing / Trump: This was the right

US President Donald Trump declared a few days ago that it was necessary for the United States to resume nuclear weapons testing to ensure that it was in line with other nuclear powers.

He told reporters after meeting with Xi Jinping and leaving South Korea that the time was right to do so. The US president added that the sites for the nuclear tests would be decided later.

In a post on social media, he said there was no other choice, while noting that other powers had recently continued testing weapons capable of carrying nuclear warheads.

“The United States has more nuclear weapons than any other country. This was achieved, along with the modernization of existing weapons systems, during my first term (in the White House),” President Trump said in a post on Truth Social, adding that Russia currently has the second largest nuclear arsenal in the world and China the third, but they could increase theirs to similar levels in the next five years.

“Due to their terrifying and destructive power, I HAD to do it, but I had no other choice!” he added in his post and concluded: “Due to testing by other countries, I have instructed the Department of War to begin testing our nuclear weapons on a level playing field.
