Trump "makes concessions" to Mexico/ Tariffs postponed by a month

The President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, through a post on his social network, "Truth", announced the reaching of an agreement with the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, to postpone the imposition of tariffs on Mexico by one month.

"We agreed to immediately suspend the proposed tariffs on Mexico for a one-month period during which we will have negotiations led by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent, and Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick, and high-level officials representing Mexico," Trump announced.

On the other hand, the Mexican president also reacted by saying that she had promised Trump to work together regarding illegal immigrants, but also to cooperate and stop the trafficking of weapons from America to Mexico.

Sheinbaum stressed that he assured Trump that the two countries would be trading allies, adding that the US's suspension of tariffs on Mexico was excellent news. /CNA
