About 100 Airbus employees fall ill after the company's Christmas party

A holiday for employees at an Airbus subsidiary in France took a turn for the worse this month after dozens of employees fell ill after a company Christmas party.

"Approximately 100 Airbus Atlantic employees became ill from the food after eating the Christmas lunch hosted by the company," a spokesman for the European aeronautics company said in an emailed statement to CNN.

No one at Airbus was seriously ill from the December 15 incident and all employees returned to work the following Monday, according to the spokesman.

Airbus Atlantic, founded in January 2022, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airbus, specializing in aircraft seats. Airbus Atlantic has 13,000 employees in five countries, although the ill-fated Christmas lunch took place in France.
