Peace plan/ Zelensky: The main problem, giving territory to Russia

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has stated that giving Ukrainian territory to Russia is the main problem.

Zelensky's statement comes after talks on a peace plan backed by the United States.

Earlier, the US and Ukraine stated that weekend talks in Geneva on the 28-point peace plan were very productive.

But, speaking in a video message at a conference on Monday, Zelensky said Putin wants legal recognition of what he has stolen, for violating the principle of territorial integrity and sovereignty.

European leaders criticized the plan when it was released last week, saying it was too favorable to Russia.

The US, on the other hand, stated that the peace plan in Geneva was revised and clarified. Russia says it has not yet seen any updates.

Meanwhile, Russian attacks on Ukraine continue, with at least four people killed in a drone strike in Kharkiv on Sunday. / CNA
