The Special Prosecution Office and the Kosovo Police have issued a joint press statement regarding the operation conducted today in the municipalities of Zubin Potok and Zveçan.

The statement said the operation was conducted as part of an investigation into the murder of a EULEX official. It was reported that raids were carried out at two locations in Zvecan and seven locations in Zubin Potok. Seven people were also detained and released after being interviewed.

Meanwhile, authorities have found and seized as material evidence: two weapons, ammunition, clothing with nationalist content, binoculars, documents, various electronic devices, etc.

Joint statement from the Special Prosecution Office and the Kosovo Police:

Pristina, 19 October 2025 – Based on the order issued by the Basic Court in Pristina and under the leadership of the Special Prosecution Office in cooperation with the Police, a police operation was conducted in the Municipality of Zubin Potok and Zveçan, within the framework of an investigation related to the murder of the official of the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) AS, with the aim of verifying information and possible identification of relevant evidence.

Police investigators from the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Serious Crimes conducted raids in two (2) locations in Zveçan and seven (7) locations in Zubin Potok, under suspicion of committing the following criminal offenses:

- Endangering United Nations personnel or personnel associated with them;

- Aggravated Murder;

- Attack on an official person while performing official duty.

During the operation, which was also supported by other relevant units of the Kosovo Police, seven (7) people were escorted to the Police Station, and after being interviewed, they were released in a regular procedure.

Meanwhile, during the execution of the search warrant, as an important procedural step within an investigation that is still ongoing, material evidence was found and seized, such as: two weapons, ammunition, clothing with nationalist content, binoculars, documents, various electronic devices, etc.
