The United States and Ukraine will work together to make a change to the draft of a new peace plan, which will consist of 19 points and not 28 points as has been mentioned so far.
This is what is said in the joint statement issued by the White House after the meeting between US and Ukrainian representatives in Geneva for talks on the US peace proposal.
US President Donald Trump hinted at new progress on the plan.
"Is it really possible that great progress is being made in the peace talks between Russia and Ukraine??? Don't believe it until you see it, but something good could be happening," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
The US surprised Kiev and European countries with its 28-point peace plan last week, giving Ukraine until Thursday to agree on a framework to end Europe's deadliest war since World War II.
The plan would require Kiev to cede more territory, accept limits on its military and ban it from ever joining NATO, conditions that Kiev has long rejected as tantamount to surrender. /CNA
