The attack on the Christmas market in Germany / Scholz condemns the terrible act

Five people, including a young child, have been killed after a car plowed into a crowd of people at a Christmas market in the eastern German city of Magdeburg.

More than 200 people were injured in the attack, and 40 of them are in critical condition.

Police have arrested a 50-year-old doctor from Saudi Arabia who they believe is responsible for the attack, according to German Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff.

Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that the deadly attack in Magdeburg was terrible and crazy.

"Horrible, insane act. There is no place more peaceful and cheerful than a Christmas market, where people go with friends and family to enjoy a warm drink and seek some meditation and joy.”

This horrific act took place yesterday evening, where a car quickly took money from people at the Christmas market in Magdeburg.
