Strong earthquake tremors have been recorded in Central Italy, with the epicenter between the Marche and Abruzzo.

Initially, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 on the Richter scale was recorded. A minute later, a second shock of magnitude 3.6 followed by two more of magnitude 2.5 and 2.0.

According to Italian media, the epicenter was in the Abruzzo region almost along the border, 4 km from Folignano in the province of Ascoli Piceno and 7 km from the city of Ascoli.

The seismic movement was also well felt in Umbria and reports also came from Tuscany and Lazio.

People have come out of their homes in fear, while at the moment there are no reports of damage. /CNA.al
