US forces shoot down Iranian drone in Arabian Sea

The United States armed forces announced that they had shot down an Iranian drone in the waters of the Arabian Sea.

The incident comes as the US military presence in the region has increased to counter air threats and secure shipping lanes, and tensions between Washington and Tehran have entered a new phase.

CENTCOM spokesman Captain Tim Hawkins described the details of today's two military encounters. According to the report, on February 3, a US F-35C fighter jet shot down an Iranian Shahd-139 drone with an invasion regime that was heading towards the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the Arabian Sea.

The carrier was stationed 500 miles off Iran's southern coast, and the drone had continued to advance despite US efforts to de-escalate tensions. No US troops or equipment were harmed in the incident./ CNA
