US President Joe Biden's campaign insisted again that he will not withdraw from the race even as many top Democrats want him to consider dropping out of the November presidential race to pave the way for a the new Democratic candidate to prevent a possible election loss.

Biden is currently at his home in Dellauer, where he has been isolated due to the coronavirus infection.

The American president has insisted that he can defeat the Republican Donald Trump, as he is facing pressure to leave the race.

Biden's campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillion, acknowledged that there is a "decline" in support for the president, but insisted that he will "absolutely" stay in the race and that his campaign "has some way to go" to defeat Trump. .

"We have a lot of work to do to reassure the American people that yes he is old, but he can win," she told MSNBC. She said voters' concerns about Biden's ability to lead the country are not driving them to vote for Trump.

"They have questions, but they're standing with Joe Biden," she added.

At the same time, the Democratic National Committee is expected to meet on Friday to push forward the planned virtual vote before August 7, where the party's presidential candidate is expected to be nominated. This virtual meeting will be held before the party holds its Convention later in August in Chicago.

A majority of Democrats think the vice president, Kamala Harris, could be a good candidate for president.

Democrats at the highest levels have asked Biden to reconsider his candidacy.
