Deadly Russian attacks in Ukraine

Three civilians were killed in the early hours of October 22 during Russian drone strikes in the northeastern Ukrainian region of Sumy, which borders Russia, the regional administration said in a Telegram announcement.

Officials also said that Ukrainian air defense systems have shot down more than 25 drones over the Sumi region.

Meanwhile, authorities in two Russian regions have reported that Ukrainian drones have targeted three alcohol distilleries.

In the Tambov region, southeast of Moscow, a drone strike sparked a fire at the Biokhim methanol distillery, regional governor Maxim Yegorov said in a Telegram post.

Biokhim is one of Russia's oldest producers, and the company produces "products of strategic importance for the state," mainly ethanol, the company's website says.

In the Tula region, south of Moscow, Ukrainian drones hit alcohol distilleries, one in Efremov and one in Luzhkovski, according to the regional governor, Dmitry Milyaev. He added that there are no victims from these attacks carried out by Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that air defense systems shot down 18 drones during the night.
