Preliminary election results in Greece have so far declared Kyriakos Mitsotakis the winner.

The Greek Prime Minister has issued a statement to the media thanking the citizens for the trust given to his party "New Democracy".

Mitsotakis said he has the approval of the citizens to move forward and govern independently.
