Parliamentary elections in Greece/ Today, the new government is elected

Greece today votes for the parliamentary elections, where the race is between the two main parties 'New Democracy' of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and 'SYRIZA' of Tsipras.

9.8 million voters will decide on the new government of Greece.

From 7 am to 7 pm voters can exercise their right to vote.

Based on the Constitution and electoral legislation in Greece, exercising the right to vote is mandatory.

People who are over 70 years old and are abroad, as well as those who cannot move due to health reasons, are not obliged to vote.

Also voters who are registered in the special election lists for heteroresidents, but no polling station has been set up due to the lack of at least 40 non-resident voters of the same basic electoral area.

There are 6 Greek parties competing in this election, while 7 of the candidates for deputies are Albanians.
