The lies that the media and others have exposed to him are not only fantastic, but surpass all of his counterparts in terms of impudence and imagination.

Evidence of this is a complaint received by the editorial office of "Ora News" from a citizen, who, while requesting that the right to anonymity be respected, claims to have uncovered the truth about an event from 9 years ago, where the big news was announced that the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who was not a subject of justice at the time, had received the title "Doctor Honoris Causa" from "Grand Valley State University" in the United States of America, where he completed his higher studies.

This is precisely the issue addressed in the complaint received by "Ora News", where the citizen claims that there is no title given to Veliaj by this university and as proof of this he also brings a photo from a communication with the head of the Registration Office (Records) of the "Grand Valley State University", who confirms that Mr. Veliaj only has a first cycle "Bachelor" degree, which was awarded to him in 2002.

"I initially spoke on the phone with Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan with two requests: the first for a "Bachelor's" degree for Mayor Veliaj; the second with a request for an honorary title - with a corresponding award - "Doctor Honoris Causa" for Veliaj from the same university.

After several phone calls and emails, always respecting American and Albanian privacy laws, from the head of the Records Office of this university.
