Fires in Korça Region/ Situation under control, fires in Prespa Park

Following the monitoring and interventions carried out by the responsible local Civil Emergency structures, the current situation in the territory of Korça District appears to be stabilized.

All fire sources have been neutralized and there is no risk of further spread.

Interventions and monitoring on the ground continue to guarantee safety and prevent any possible reactivation.

1. Strelce Village, Gora Administrative Unit, Maliq Municipality:

The fire has been completely extinguished and the source has been neutralized. Monitoring by local forces on the ground continues.

2. Area between the villages of Dishnicë and Barç, Bulgarec Local Government Area, Korça Municipality:

The fire has been neutralized and the situation appears stable. The forest service sector continues to monitor.

3. Lajthizë Village, Pustec Municipality – Zvezdë–Gorica road:

The fire in the upper area of the village is under control. The fires are currently neutralized. The presence of smoke is contained within the burned area and does not pose a risk of spread.

Monitoring and intervention will continue until every fire is completely extinguished and safety in Prespa National Park is guaranteed./ CNA
