Veliaj is reported to SPAK for the affairs in the reconstruction of dormitory

Activist Aurel Kujtimi announced through a status on social networks that a report was submitted to SPAK yesterday against Mayor Veliaj and the former director of University Student Residence No. 1 Anila Shehu.

The complaint concerns investments made in 2019 in Student City buildings. More specifically, Kujtimi stated a year ago that the reconstruction of a room in dormitory no. 6 cost 10 thousand euros, but from field observations and referring to reference prices for furniture and equipment in one room, the investment actually cost only 1.36 million lek. 

Activist Kujtim demands that every person involved in this affair be brought to justice.

Greetings, dear friends and well-wishers!

On Wednesday, we filed a criminal complaint with SPAK against the Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, and the former director of the University Student Residence No. 1, Anila Shehu, for one of the most scandalous affairs in Student City.

As was announced on March 3rd, where the media were notified to cover our statement, like never before in almost 3 years that we have been reporting the leadership chain of the Tirana Municipality for corrupt affairs in Student City, no portal or media outlet covered our legal action and the statement we made before SPAK.

A certain media outlet recorded our statement and, having had our communications with the journalists of this media outlet, they have not given us any reason as to why, even after two days, our statement before SPAK has not been published to explain the details about this affair in Student City.

I encourage SPAK to carry out its duty by enforcing the law to investigate this matter, holding accountable the perpetrators and every party involved in this corrupt affair and scandal in Student City.

As soon as we receive the postal document confirming that the report filed two days ago has been received by SPAK, we will communicate with everyone on social networks./ CNA
