Drug trafficking by Albanians has forced the state of Ecuador to restore visas.
Such a decision entered into force on August 24.
Journalist Fatjona Mejdini confirms that this move has come about because of the high number of Albanians traveling to Ecuador to join the drug-trafficking network.
"Since August 24 of this year, Ecuador has established visas for all Albanian citizens. The reason is the high number of Albanians who travel there to become part of the illegal drug trade. But ironically, those who are penalized are the ordinary Albanian citizens, while the traffickers have foreign passports or residence permits of this country", writes Mejdini on social networks.
