Center for Interfaith Cooperation: The Government should find a permanent

The Center for Interfaith Cooperation has today expressed deep concern regarding the alarming air pollution situation in the city of Elbasan, as a result of the malfunctioning of the existing incinerator and repeated outbreaks of fires in the landfill.

The center states that this situation poses a serious risk to the health of citizens and a continuing threat to the environment and the future of new generations.

In this context, the Center for Interfaith Cooperation calls on the Government to urgently undertake the investment in the construction of a new incinerator, according to modern standards, which guarantees the protection of the environment and public health.

The Center called on the justice authorities to investigate with priority and bring to justice all those individuals or structures that have abused the funds and management of the former incinerator, now out of operation.

Local and national institutions are required to cooperate closely to provide a sustainable and long-term solution to this problem that recurs every year.

The Center for Interfaith Cooperation believes that a clean environment, created by God, is a fundamental right for every citizen and a moral obligation for every society that aims for sustainable development, justice, and well-being for all./CNA
