Former Foreign Minister of Greece, Theodoros Pangalos

The former Foreign Minister of Greece, Theodoros Pangalos, has passed away at the age of 85.

The news of the death of the Greek politician has been confirmed by his family.

Theodoros Pangalos was a Greek politician and leading member of the Panhellenic Socialist Movement (PASOK).

He served as Deputy Prime Minister of Greece, responsible for the coordination of the Governmental Council for Foreign Affairs and Defense (KYSEA) and the new Economic and Social Policy Committee from 2009 to 2012.

In 1996, he was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs and held this post until his resignation in 1999.

Pangalos was born in Eleusis, Greece. He is the grandson of the 1926 general and dictator Theodoros Pangalos.

He never denied that his family members were of Arvanite origin.

Pangalos is remembered for his expression during the economic crisis in Greece, where he addressed the people: " Together we are guilty, together we abused and wasted "./ CNA.al
