After 6 hours, the court hearing on the Meta-Kryemadhi case ends

The trial against Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi at the Special Court has ended after about six hours, with debates between the parties. During the session, SPAK read only a part of the investigative file, about 130 pages out of 230 in total, where the charges and supporting evidence are presented.

The defense has not yet started its submissions, while the Special Prosecution Office has continued to explain the investigative materials in charge of Ilir Meta. The court is expected to decide whether the case will proceed to trial on the merits.

Prosecutors have been asked to read the entire request to send the case to trial, which consists of 214 pages. The investigations, closed on July 28, have been merged into a single file that includes the CEZ-DIA affair, the former LSI's lobbying in the US and the property investigation.

Meta and Kryemadhi, accused of passive corruption, money laundering and failure to declare assets, were present at the hearing. Also defendants in this case are Pirro Xhixho, accused of corruption in collaboration, as well as Fatime Kryemadhi and Ema Çoku for money laundering./ CNA
