Forecast for intense rainfall/ Ministry of Defense requests measures to be taken

The Ministry of Defense has announced that, based on information from the Institute of Geosciences (IGJEO) and the Military Meteorological Service (SHMU), rainfall is expected in several regions of the country this afternoon and tomorrow. According to the forecasts, the rainfall will be locally intense and accompanied by thunderstorms.

In this context, the Ministry has called on Civil Protection structures and responsible institutions at local and central levels to increase attention and readiness to take preventive measures.

Municipalities in the highest-risk areas have been asked to strengthen operational preparedness and continuously monitor the situation on the ground.

Meanwhile, prefectures must forward information to municipalities and report any issues to the National Civil Emergency Operations Center in a timely manner.
