"We are not indifferent, we are citizens"/ Hundreds of citizens in the

Hundreds of citizens have gathered for the third consecutive day in the Pedestrian Zone of Korça, continuing their protests against the government.

With banners and calls against Prime Minister Edi Rama, the protesters demanded political change and a broader civic response to the problems that, according to them, the country is facing.

One of the citizens who spoke during the rally called on Albanians, including public administration employees, to join the protest. He said that no one should remain indifferent to the situation, also sharing a personal experience.

"Even if my brother is in the administration, he should come out here, quit his job. Because if there could be 1,000 people he can fire, if there are 100,000, they can't fire them all. Now, I had my mom, I had her at the Tre Urave customs. The only thing they asked for in the job was to be an activist and get as many votes as possible. It was a shame for me to be the first to do it. We realized the mistake because we can't sell our morals for a salary of 400,000 or 500,000 lek," the citizen says.

He added that change can only come through greater protests and the engagement of all citizens, emphasizing that today's sacrifices will serve the future of younger generations.

Another citizen, who was part of the protests held in recent days in Tirana, said that the participation in Korça showed that the city is not indifferent to developments in the country.

"I came after 6 days of intense protests in Tirana, where everyone was saying: 'What about Korça? What will happen to Korça? Because the people of Korça are indifferent.' And today, with your presence here, I am very happy to show you that we are not indifferent, we are citizens. We stand up when we feel oppressed! We protest against arrogance, against theft," said the citizen.

She also focused on the events that, according to her, have prompted the citizen reaction, mentioning the case of the protester dragged away in Zvërnec.

"It wasn't just that event, because through that event we didn't just see that protester being dragged, we saw our entire lives over these 35 years. They have dragged us, they have stolen from us, they have dragged pensioners with that little pension that doesn't even give them dignity. They have dragged young people who have lost their hope ," she added.

Amid continued calls against the government, other protesters accused the prime minister of fraud and mismanagement over the past few years, demanding his removal from power.

"All Albanians know the deeds of our prime minister. For 13 years, he has deceived us, stolen from us, despised us, offended us, so the time has come to say stop. Because the people woke up, who are demanding his resignation. The people are tired, bored and can't stand it anymore. So go away, go away! Rama go! Rama go! Rama go away!" , protestors have expressed.

The protest took place without incident and under the supervision of police forces. Organizers stated that the rallies will continue in the coming days, with the aim of expanding citizen participation in the anti-government protests. /CNA
