Isa Boletini's grandson: He did not arrive late in Vlora, let history be

Isa Boletini's grandson, Gazmend Boletini, spoke today about the figure of his predecessor, as he is commemorated even more today on Independence Day.

Invited to A2 CNN, Boletini recalled historical details from Isai's journey to Vlora, while stating that he did not arrive late, unlike what is constantly mentioned.  

"In every part of the Balkans there are notes about this figure of our nation. Isa Boletini was not absent from the declaration of independence. These are the testimonies brought by his nephew who says that on November 28 we left Fier for Vlora. This was also said by the great American journalist and even the notes of the Austrian consuls, who left Durrës for Vlora. We will leave this an exclusivity. My desire is to leave all the work done so that those who come after me can work with dignity because the path of Isa Boletini has been sacred. Very soon I will make a family book for 20 years now for all the work and dedication I have done. It is known that Isa Boletini was not only a fighter, but also touched on parts of the national issue internationally in Istanbul, Rome, Vienna and most recently at the London Conference.

 Isa is honored, but in the last 10 years I have opened a collaboration with professors and people who are abroad, starting with the archives of Istanbul to London, interest from the Ministry of Culture to hold an exhibition in the tower complex that will bring information from photographs, notes and newspapers of the time, and Isa Boletini does not only emerge as a mountain warrior as the enemies of the time have presented him, but also with a far-sighted vision where he opened the first Albanian school in 1899, educating his sons and grandsons. I want to thank my colleagues and professors who, with their support, have reached here today in Boletini, even though it needs new investments because it is a place that has given a lot to the national cause.

We have had many activities in our tower, we started with scientific activities and students from Mitrovica schools with poetry and recitations. And today we started with visits from state institutions. From KLA veterans and many citizens from Albanian regions. This is the third year that we have made the red and black tower the national flag. From traditional foods to national costumes, the tower was attractive to visitors yesterday. Today we took many photos. Mitrovica feels proud to have Isa Buletini, one of the key figures of the declaration of independence. They always remember Isa as an example. Even schools in national costumes have marched in the city. The Xheladin Deda High School of Medicine has moved me. 400 students have read the KLA oath in front of Isa's tower, taking the KLA oath in the tower the day before the flag holiday", said Boletini. /CNA
