The first night of the Beer Festival in Magical Korça/ Extraordinary

Korça, on the evening of August 13, turned on the lights and atmosphere of the 19th edition of the "Beer Festival", the largest summer event in Albania, which for five nights in a row will gather thousands of visitors from all over Albania and the world.

The southeastern city is dressed in the colors of the holiday, while music, the aroma of beer, and traditional flavors have filled its squares and alleys.

Hotels have been booked for days, bars are full, and the atmosphere is felt everywhere.

This year also brings innovations, eight beer companies from the country and the region, three meat by-product companies, dozens of other partners, free Wi-Fi for all participants and free admission, making the celebration more open and accessible to the public.

In an interview with the media, Mayor Sotiraq Filo has described the journey of the Beer Festival, as the most magnificent summer event in Albania. Among other things, he says that the five nights will be long remembered by the participants.

"The 18th edition of the Beer Festival, the largest summer event in Albania, has started. It is a festival that has been consolidated, expanded from year to year to reach the size it has today, as I said, a major event, with a lot of liveliness. We have the participation of eight beer companies, which is special and the headline of this year, accompanied by other companies of products, food products, to continue then with a very important component, the artistic performance which is realized on a magnificent stage. There will be five nights filled with a lot of liveliness, with excellent musical performances, we have taken care to have different singers, the best of Albania but also from different countries, part of the beer festival. I believe that they will be 5 nights to remember."

Among the crowd, there are people who return year after year, but also those who visit for the first time. A lady from Korça who lives in Durrës says she came to her hometown just for the Beer Festival.

"We come from Durrës especially for the Beer Festival. We are from Korça and we come year after year. We come, book the hotel and then enjoy the Beer Festival. Very nice, this year they have made it very nice. We will stay two nights, today and tomorrow."

But the Beer Festival has also become an attraction for foreign tourists. A Finnish tourist tells Cna about the fantastic impressions she has created at this magnificent event, promising to return again.

"We are from Finland and this is my first time at this event. It's a very nice atmosphere here, it makes you want to dance. Korça is a very beautiful place, we haven't been here before but it has history, culture and everything. We will stay in Korça for two days and will be back tomorrow for the beer festival."

The evening also brought together visitors from other continents, such as the United States of America. One of them, a former brewery owner in Arizona, says that he finds a perfect mix of flavors and energy here. His friend, on the other hand, says that the Beer Festival is fantastic, just like Albania, from which he will never leave.

"I used to have a brewery in Arizona and I can say that I love beer. The atmosphere is fantastic here, the music is great, the rhythm is totally Albanian. The beers are very good, at cheap prices, there are beautiful girls and everyone should come and join in. I'll be there the next day as well, and we're going back to Tirana on Friday."

"This is my first year participating in the Beer Festival. I actually live in Tirana, but I'm from Arizona in the United States of America. I really like Albania and I don't intend to leave here. I'm very happy with the price of the beer, there are many different flavors, I'm having a great time. We'll be back for two more nights at the festival."

As the first night closed amidst the sounds of music and raised glasses, Korça invites everyone to be part of the celebration that for 19 years has become a symbol of Albanian summer. With rhythm, taste and hospitality, the city promises nights that will remain long in the memory of visitors./ CNA
